S2 Project4 PITCH FOR THE FUTURE

1.Brief

2.theme selection

The theme I chose is the ocean, because I grew up in a coastal city. The ocean is a familiar existence for me. When it comes to the ocean, we can think of many topics, such as the protection of the marine environment, the development and utilization of marine energy, marine biodiversity and so on.

This is the view from the window of my bedroom.

But when I approached the beach, I found that the real situation was not optimistic.

3.research

Marine biological resources are a huge biological resources to be further developed. The diversity of environment determines the diversity of organisms and compounds. Exploring new marine biological resources has become an important development trend of marine drug research. Therefore, reducing marine pollution is particularly important.

Marine pollution is a marine disaster, so governments, non-governmental organizations and local residents can work together to manage and protect the above areas and our oceans. Scientists estimate that 30% of the world’s total ocean area needs to be protected in order to ensure the survival of marine fish and plants. However, at present, less than 3 per cent of the ocean area is fully protected.
In the process of human production and life, a large number of polluting substances atomic nuclei continue to enter the ocean through various ways, which will do varying degrees of harm to marine biological resources, marine development and marine environmental quality, and eventually harm mankind itself.
1、 Eutrophication in some sea areas;
2、 From oil sea area to land area, biodiversity decreased sharply;
3、 The toxins produced after the death of marine organisms poison the human body through the food chain;
4、 Destroy the environmental quality of coastal scenic spots, and the whole Party thallium will lose its due value.

Marine pollution is characterized by many pollution sources, strong sustainability, wide diffusion range and difficult to control. The seawater turbidity caused by marine pollution seriously affects the photosynthesis of marine plants (phytoplankton and algae), thus affecting the productivity of the sea area and harming fish. Toxic substances such as heavy metals and toxic organic compounds accumulate in the sea area and cause toxicity to marine animals and other animals that eat them through the enrichment of marine organisms. Oil pollution forms a vast oil film on the ocean surface to prevent the oxygen in the air from dissolving into the sea. At the same time, the decomposition of oil also consumes the dissolved oxygen in the water, resulting in hypoxia in the sea, endangering marine organisms and harming seabirds and humans. The red tide caused by aerobic organic pollution (the result of seawater eutrophication) causes seawater hypoxia and the death of marine organisms. Marine pollution will also destroy coastal tourism resources. Therefore, marine pollution has attracted more and more attention of the international community.

Due to the particularity of the ocean, marine pollution is different from atmospheric and land-based pollution. Its prominent characteristics are: first, there are a wide range of pollution sources. Not only human activities in the ocean can pollute the ocean, but also pollutants generated by human activities on land and other activities will eventually flow into the ocean through river runoff, atmospheric diffusion, rain and snow and other forms of precipitation. Second, it is highly sustainable. The ocean is the lowest terrain area on the earth. It is impossible to transfer or eliminate pollutants through a rainstorm or a flood season like the atmosphere and rivers; Once pollutants enter the ocean, they are difficult to transfer out. Insoluble and non decomposable substances accumulate more and more in the ocean, which often pose a potential threat to mankind through biological concentration and food chain transmission. Third, it spreads widely. The global ocean is an interconnected whole. If a sea area is polluted, it will often spread to the surrounding areas, and even some later effects will spread to the whole world. Fourth, prevention and control is difficult and harmful. Marine pollution has a long and accumulation process, which is not easy to find in time. Once pollution is formed, it needs long-term treatment to eliminate the impact, and the treatment cost is large. The harm caused will affect all aspects, especially the poison to human body, which is difficult to completely remove.

Marine protection is actually a very popular word, which everyone may often hear. But in fact, few people really understand that most of us have a little understanding of the problems of the marine environment. People’s understanding of the severity of the marine environment is vague. And few people know what they can do or have done to protect the marine environment.

The ocean focuses on the “blue territory” covering three-quarters of the earth’s surface, deeply explores this deep and rich mysterious world, and completely presents the magnificent vastness of the ocean. The adventure of the real animal world is far more wonderful than the story in the cartoon. Next, the screen will launch a huge jellyfish group, right whales, great white sharks and penguins to show their vigorous vitality in front of the camera, which is amazing. At the same time, it will torture the traces left by human beings affecting life at the bottom of the sea. There is no artificial perspective, no comments, and only let the camera speak

Jacques Behan hopes that the film will let people face up to the coordination of economy and resources, and let people understand that it is not too late to protect the ocean. In the film, the creators fully demonstrated the food chain, told people how the whole marine ecosystem works, and predicted the serious consequences if the food chain breaks. All the people and animals in the film are closely related to the ocean. What happens in the ocean is also closely related to human society, so as to alert people.

4.interview

I interviewed people of all ages and with all kinds of education. Through the interview, we can find that our research is correct. Although the current situation of the marine environment can not be underestimated, people’s understanding of it is very shallow. Therefore, in the future project, I want to convert this great documentary with a score of 9.2 into another way of visual display, which may help people understand and feel the current situation of the ocean in another way.

In addition, I also made some collages and sktech on some images during the interview

5.final vedio

The theme I chose for the project is ocean. In the process of research, I found that protecting the marine environment is one of the most familiar points about the ocean. But after I conducted a lot of interviews, I found that many people do not have a clear understanding of the current state of the ocean. And many of them have not really tried to understand in the past. I hope to find a new way to give them a new understanding of the current state of the ocean, and I hope this way is interesting enough to attract people. But after I saw a lot of art works on the theme of marine environmental protection, I found that many works are too far-fetched in expression. Maybe they are excellent installations, and the author has given them a deep understanding and expression. But sometimes they are not so easy for most of the ordinary people watching them to understand some more realistic things well. So I hope that my works can find a balance between artistic value and social value. This will be the biggest challenge for me.

In the final video, I selected some clips about marine pollution for story editing, and put some interviews in the same picture. What they say will not be heard clearly, just as they have a little knowledge of the ocean.
